Very useful info. Other Japanese vloggers have touched on the issue of visa’s, but none of given such a great, in depth, and even hopeful answer. Most seem to treat it as a horrible experience that will never turn out good for you. They also seem to discourage coming to Japan for anything longer than one or two months :P

Thanks again!

How long did you study Japanese on your own before getting formal language education and do you think you can survive without any Japanese or how much do you need?

@Tenshouification The problem is, if you are an American citizen and renounce your citizenship, the Internal Revenue Service will still hold you accountable for paying taxes

@DeepBlueSkyy No, if you live in Japan for over 10 years and have made a good impact on Japan you can renounce your citizenship. Then again I’ve heard that you cannot vote.

@Tenshouification he is a foreigner because of that he won’t get one.

Great information, Why don’t you apply for citizenship?
