RT Interesting piece from VC of the University of Melbourne on absence of higher ed from politics in AU
Lecturer Hamish Ford re Clinton Q&A with Melbourne University students: "Throughout, no one challenged Clinton on the purpose or impact of her nation’s unprecedented global power.
Unfortunately, neither Dr Sutherland or Douglas Adams (the author of the book) are still alive. For all his eccentricity, it seems that Struan Sutherland accomplished a lot during his life.
And he stayed funny until the end. According to Wikipedia: “When he died in 2002, he had already written his own death notice: “Struan would like to inform his friends and acquaintances that he fell off his perch on Friday, 11 January 2002, and is to be privately cremated. No flowers please. Donations to Australian Venom Research Unit, Melbourne University.”
I would suggest you try to do more research on these particular courses. You can get the detailed course information from the academic consultant and I believe that they pretty like to explain to you about the particular courses. Moreover, online social networking is very popular nowadays; you can gather some helpful opinion or feedback from the students who are currently taking these particular courses. You may get to know the students by joining some of local portal/forum which they are quite active in. Try to be friends with them and you will understand more about the courses.

To be perfectly honest, I suffered from debilitating social phobia when I was younger (perhaps a mistake to mention this in a public forum)! Even the thought of purchasing an item from a shop or walking down the street terrified me. It was severe enough to exempt me from all oral presentations in my undergraduate degree. I hid this condition from those around me, though, and outwardly presented a cheerful, chatty persona. Of course the social phobia is still there, but the years have blunted its effect. In spite of the condition, I have had many, many wonderful relationships and friendships through the years. So, and I guess this is the TL;DR version, no-one was more surprised than me when I realised I could actually stand in front of a class and lecture. And I think you will surprise yourself too (though it can take time) if you are passionate enough about something you want to do!
